On July 3, 2012 Dane and Jef ended up at a party where their mutual friend was DJ'ing. They both knew so many of the same people but somehow had never met before. Phone numbers were exchanged and the first date happened a week later. After dinner, they walked through Tompkins Square Park and stopped to sit and chat. Stories were shared, as were a kiss or two, and plans were made for another date.
3 years later on August 22, 2015, with the help of some friends and family and an elaborate ruse about seeing a puppet show in Tompkins Square Park, Jef proposed to Dane while sitting on the same bench they sat on for their first date.

(A special thanks to Jef's sister-in-law Tawyna Evans for the beautiful pictures)
The ceremony and reception will take place at The Vander Ende-Onderdonk House, located in Ridgewood on the border of Queens and Brooklyn, is the oldest Dutch Colonial stone house in New York City. We live just around the corner and it is truly special to welcome you to our neighborhood.
Do you sing, dance, play an instrument? Would you like to be part of the evening's entertainment? We'll have a PA and two microphones. Email us at info@daneandjef.com and tell us what you would like to do.
We already have a fully furnished home but if you would like to give a monetary gift we have registered with Zola to make it simple. On our page you can contribute to the Honeymoon Fund or Dreams and All-Purpose Shenanigans. The link is below.
HOTELS......
Courtyard by Marriott - Downtown Manhattan
Hilton Garden Inn - Long Island City
Rooms blocks are reserved at the Courtyard Downtown near the World Trade Center and at the Hilton Garden Inn in Long Island City. Both hotels are close to major subway lines and about a 40 minute car ride from the wedding venue. We recognize that these hotels are still expensive so we encourage families and groups of friends to explore vacation rental websites like Homeaway, Flipkey and AirBnB. If you would like to be near the wedding venue, use the neighborhood names "Bushwick, Brooklyn, NY", "Ridgewood, Brooklyn, NY" or "Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY". We're happy to answer questions if you are unsure of a location.
GETTING AROUND........
The subways and buses are clean (most of the time) and are very safe all hours of the day. Taxis are plentiful in Manhattan. Car Services and Uber are convenient for getting around Brooklyn and Queens.
